I grew up in a family that believed travel was simply part of life.
My parents introduced me to the world in all kinds of ways. Some trips were ambitious — rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, sailing the British Virgin Islands, studying in Spain as a teenager and later in London. Others were much simpler, like a week at a fish camp in Vermont (my dad’s idea of the perfect vacation) or an impromptu drive to the beach.
Looking back, what stands out most is not just the places we visited. It is how those experiences shaped the way I see the world.
I have never believed there is one destination, one itinerary, or one style of travel that works for everyone. The best journeys begin with understanding the people taking them — their interests, their priorities, their pace, and what they hope to experience.
My role is not simply to make reservations or suggest the most popular destinations. It is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and use my experience to help clients make decisions about where to go, how to spend their time, and which details will make the biggest difference.
Sometimes that means designing a completely customized itinerary. Sometimes it means recommending a guided journey because the expertise, structure, and ease are exactly what a traveler needs. Sometimes it means suggesting a slower pace, an extra night, or a different approach than they originally imagined.
Still packing a bag, still chasing the wonder.
Over time, I have also come to appreciate that luxury is less about a specific price point and more about the way a trip feels. It is the ease of knowing the details have been thoughtfully considered. It is having the freedom to be present rather than worrying about what comes next. It is creating space for the moments that become the stories we tell for years afterward.
I continue to travel often — sometimes with my husband, sometimes with my children, sometimes with my mother, and often across generations. I also value the perspective that comes from exploring the world independently. Each journey, whether shared or solo, continues to shape the way I think about planning, pacing, and the small decisions that transform a good trip into the right one.
